How Auto Insurance Protects You

Auto insurance is a contract: you pay a premium and your carrier agrees to pay for specific losses defined in the policy. Knowing how the parts fit together helps you choose limits that actually protect you.

Liability coverage

Pays for injury or property damage you cause to others. Florida's required limits are low compared to the cost of a serious accident, so we usually recommend higher limits than the state minimum.

Collision and comprehensive

Collision repairs your own vehicle after an accident. Comprehensive covers non-collision events like theft, hail, flooding, and animal strikes.

Uninsured / underinsured motorist

A meaningful share of Florida drivers carry little or no insurance. UM coverage protects you and your passengers when the at-fault driver cannot.
